#TravelsWithOllie: April Group Hike

April 16, 2018
Spring finally arrived in DC on Saturday with beautiful blue skies and near 80 degree weather. It was the perfect day for an outing at the US Arboretum in NE DC. Sadly, Ollie ended up at the vet's office that morning with an ear infection so I had to lead this hike without my trusty side-kick. He's back to his spastic self now...
I was joined by an exuberant group of pups and their peeps for a somewhat leisurely stroll around the park's grounds. We relaxed beneath beautiful cherry trees, looped through the Asian gardens and walked along the Anacostia river, stopping frequently for photo ops. After a group pic at the original US Capitol columns, the group dispersed to enjoy the rest of the day or…from what I've heard, nap all afternoon.

Two foster dogs joined us: Mike (left - available through Rural Dog Rescue) and Lolly (right - available through City Dogs Rescue) Both were extremely well behaved and would make perfect family pets.

Thanks to everyone who joined us! Our next group hike will be Mary's Rock in Shenandoah National Park on MAY 6. Learn more + sign up on our Facebook Event page.
