#TravelsWithOllie: March Group Hike

March 19, 2018
Yesterday the #TravelsWithOllie group hike celebrated the beginning of spring with a morning adventure in Scott's Run Nature Preserve. The preserve’s large hardwood trees, steep hills, rocky cliffs and meandering streams provide perfect habitat for rare plants and local wildlife. Of course, with our excited crew wildlife sightings were non-existent except for the lone fox I saw while waiting for everyone to arrive.
We opted for the full loop giving us a challenging ridge walk, scenic views of the Potomac and plenty of wooded trail goodness. Depending on who's Fitbit you looked at we did 3.5 - 5 miles, but who's really counting? With so many trails to choose from and close proximity to the Capitol Beltway, it’s a perfect place to escape to again and again.

Thanks to everyone who got up early on Sunday to join us! The next hike will be April 7th at the National Arboretum to view the spring blooms. Learn more + sign up on the Facebook page. Cheers!
