#TravelsWithOllie: July Group Hike + Swim

July 10, 2018
Anticipating a hot and humid morning, I planned the July hike to be shorter and include a stopover at small swimming hole. Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, Virginia was the perfect choice. The park has over 34 miles of hiking trails through dense, shaded forest and along picturesque creeks. If you are in the DC area, I highly recommend the park for a break from city life.
We had a gorgeous summer morning and the largest group of adventure pups so far. The group was diverse, full of friendly high-energy pups and chill seniors. We hiked a combination of the Lauren Loop + Birch Bluff trails to make a nice, easy 2.8 mile circuit. Halfway through we stopped along Quantico Creek to splash around. I've never seen so many dogs so ecstatically happy. I simply stood there with Ollie (not so much a swimmer) and took it all in. Consider my heart full.
Our next hike will tackle the Billy Goat B+C trails on August 5th. Learn more + RSVP here.
