#TravelsWithOllie: June Group Hike

Between DC and Virginia, there's a small island sanctuary on the Potomac River dedicated the President Theodore Roosevelt. The only way to get there is by footbridge or boat and the island is for walking or running only. This makes for a peaceful spot just outside of the city although the small lot near the bridge can create some cutthroat parking situations on the weekends.
The trails are easy and wind through wetlands, woodlands and a beautiful monument to the past President. We hiked just under 2 miles before the day's heat and humidity took over. This was our 6th hike and we had a great group join us yet again.
Since the DC area can be quite warm in the summer months, our July hike will give pups the chance to swim a bit. We'll meet at the Prince William National Forest for a short hike and swim on July 8th. Learn more + sign up here.
